18 Fortress volunteers bought some coolness to the elders in To Kwa Wan during the Very Hot Weather Warning was in force. Regardless of the hot weather, Fortress volunteers “chilled” with the elderly in the Senior Citizen Centre (Kowloon City) of the Hong Kong Family Welfare Society. Apart from playing games with them, volunteers also held a talk along with Q&A session to share with the elders some safety tips in using household electrical appliances. Fortress volunteers then made a home visit to elders with low income or living alone, giving out Fortress fans and rice to bring them care and cool breeze in the hot summer.

The home appliance donation programme will be rotated to different district each year to benefit more elders in need.
