AS Watson Group and HSUHK Join Hands to Unleash Students’ Potential with Pioneering “Store Manager for a Day” Programme

AS Watson Group and The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance the academic and career development of HSUHK students. This marks the first-ever comprehensive partnership between AS Watson and a local university.

At the MoU signing ceremony, Malina Ngai, Group Chief Operating Officer, AS Watson Group and CEO, AS Watson (Asia & Europe) expressed, “As the world’s largest international health and beauty retailer, AS Watson has successfully navigated numerous challenges throughout its 180-year history, demonstrating remarkable resilience and agility. Moreover, we strongly believe that young people are our future, brimming with untapped potential, vitality, and creativity. Through this collaboration, we aim to provide students from different levels at HSUHK with more learning and practical experience opportunities, enabling them to acquire a deeper understanding of the retail industry, nurture their talents, and equip them to become future retail leaders.”

The collaboration includes scholarships, internships, an early careers programme, an exclusive “Store Manager for a Day” experience, joint applied research projects, industrial training, job shadowing and mentoring for students at HSUHK. These will help students apply theory and knowledge in practical work environments, and cultivate more management talent for the retail industry.
